Here’s a quick review of the Rossiya Airlines with photos contributed by Stephen Diaz. Stephen flew with Rossiya from Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV) to St. Petersburg’s Pulkovo Airport (LED).
A quick backgrounder, Rossiya is sometimes considered as the low-cost division of Aeroflot, Russia’s flag carrier. Rossiya calls LED as its major hub.
According to Stephen, when Rossiya is benchmarked against other low-cost, no frills airlines, Rossiya is definitely okay. No inflight entertainment was available but at least they serve food without additional charge. One could say that it is 3 out 5 stars in the low cost category.
The flight, also known as FV6628, leaves TLV at 1:45 pm and arrives in LED 06:25 pm. The aircraft used for this route is an Airbus 320.
Just a note, Rossiya Airlines changed its livery this year. Check out below the photo of an Airbus A319 that features the new colors of Rossiya.
Also, while a direct route of Rossiya from TLV-LED would actually mean flying over Ukraine, the actual path of FV6628 avoided the Ukrainian airspace flying just a few miles from the eastern edge of the Ukraine’s border with Russia.
